The Western Australian government has established the Bushfire Mitigation Activity Fund (MAF) to proactively treat extreme, very high and high bushfire risks in combination with the progressive rollout of the Bushfire Risk Management (BRM) Planning framework.
Seed funding provided to the MAF from the Royalties for Regions Program has been specifically allocated to expand the treatment of bushfire risk associated with State held lands located in and around the regional townsites, to further reduce the risks to life and property in these communities.
On 2 February 2018 the Minister for Emergency Services announced the activities funded through the 2017-18 Bushfire Mitigation Activity Fund. Read the Minister's media statement here.
