The winning photograph for Western Australia was announced on 14 October 2015 and was decided by the highest number of votes.
Congratulations to Kyle Nowak for his winning photograph, 'WA South West Communities under Threat' as voted by the public. Entrant's description about the photo: “As the fire approached they waited with charged hoses hoping a backburn they conducted earlier was successful in containing the fire. This was the South West's largest fire in decades spanning across 98,000 hectares of dense jarrah forest. Hundreds of career and volunteer firefighters and emergency services personnel from across WA and interstate fought in partnership for weeks as part of their shared responsibility to protect local communities”.
