​Amendments to the suite of State EM documents

The State Emergency Management Committee (SEMC) approved amendments to the suite of State emergency management (EM) documents (Version 01.04) on 4 May 2018, with a date of effect of 18 May 2018.

The amendments to the suite of State EM documents include:


  • ​clarifications that, due to their nature and magnitude, Level 2 and Level 3 incidents require a significant and coordinated response​

  • ​amendments in relation to the Incident Support Group (ISG) and clarifications that the Controlling Agency should consider ISG establishment for Level 2 incidents and must establish ISGs for Level 3 incidents

  • ​​reference to the Department of Primary Industry and Regional Development's role and responsibility for coordinating animal welfare during emergencies.

  • ​clarifications to State EM Recovery Procedure 2 to align with the current Western Australia Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.

With regular policy content and statement of fact updates to the State EM documents, this is a reminder to make sure you download or print the most recent versions (i.e. Version 01.04). In future, to check you have the correct versions:
